Citrus Cardamom Coffee Spritz


1 ounce cardamom simple syrup*
1 can Coffee Sparkling Shrub
½ ounce fresh lemon juice

In a glass with ice, add the simple syrup, shrub, and lemon juice. Give it a good stir, garnish with a twist of lemon, and voila!

Cardamom Simple Syrup:
1 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar
8-10 green cardamom pods, lightly crushed with the back of a knife

In a saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add the crushed cardamom pods to the sugar-water mixture. Stir well to combine.Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes. This allows the cardamom to infuse its flavor into the syrup. Keep an eye on it to ensure it doesn’t boil over. After simmering, remove the saucepan from the heat and let the syrup cool to room temperature.Once cooled, strain the syrup to remove the cardamom pods and any bits.
